Services » Arboriculture
Our definition of environmental arboriculture is defined as such; full management of all varieties of trees for the improvement of overall health with an end goal of improving the environment. We know that trees are one of our earth's greatest attributes. Trees outlive most human being's and contribute a great deal to our environment. Trees provide; passive solar resistance, oxygen to our atmosphere while removing harmful carbon dioxide, habitat for many forms of life, add architectural frames and increase the aesthetics of our communities, and instill themselves as a part of history. We believe in proper and necessary management of trees. We have certified Arborists on staff that perform all operations.
Tree & Palm Arboring
Tree and palm arboring consists of the removal of limbs within a canopy based on the following terms:
Canopy Cleaning — removal of dead, dying, and diseased branches, crossed, crowded, weakly attached, and low-vigor branches from the canopy of a tree.
Structural Pruning — pruning for the future development of a tree. This is most important when a tree is young but can still be performed once a tree is established.
Thinning — selective removal of branches to increase light penetration and air movement through the crown of a tree. Thinning opens the foliage of a tree, reduces weight on heavy limbs, and helps retain the tree's natural shape.
Reducing — reduces the overall size of a tree. Reducing the height or spread of a tree is best accomplished by pruning back the leaders and branch terminals to lateral branches that are large enough to assume the terminal roles (at least one-third the diameter of the cut stem). Compared to topping, reduction helps maintain the form and structural integrity of a tree while following proper trimming principles.
Raising — removes the lower branches from a tree in order to provide clearance for buildings, vehicles, pedestrians, and vistas (chosen view points).
Vista Pruning — Selective removal of branches within a canopy with a goal of creating clearance for a view.
Tree & Palm Removal
Tree and palm removals should be performed as a last resort and only when absolutely necessary due to liability, hazards, or improvement of landscapes. Our staff is experienced in all types of removals with safety being our #1 goal.
Hazardous Removal — the definition of a hazardous tree is any tree that poses a threat of structural, human, or property damage due to positive signs as evidence of near failure.
Rigging Specialists — Our crews are trained in technical controlled removals. Rigging is the process of removing a tree piece by piece through controlled lowering using concepts of simple machines and teamwork. When property protection is a must all removals should utilize rigging.
Stump Grinding — Removal of tree and Palm stumps. Following removal we can either leave the excess chips, or provide installation of replacements, turf, planted beds, or other outdoor items.
Debris Chipping — All trees and debris are chipped into organic mulch. Mulch is available to the clientele at the time of operation on a request basis.
Animal & Object Removal — We provide service for removal of animals or toys stuck in trees or areas which are unreachable on a normal basis.
Tree Cabling & Bracing
Cabling and bracing stabilizes and reduces the risk of failure allowing an extended life for the tree. This service applies to trees that pose a hazard or risk condition towards failure but are not chosen for removal. Most elderly and historic trees require some sort of cabling in the later years to limit risk of failure.
Construction Protection & Preservation
Construction damage to trees can cause a slow but definite decline in tree health often leading towards death. It is imperative a certified Arborist be involved in tree preservation and protection before, during, and following any construction activity. Trees take a lifetime to grow but can be killed in an instant by negligence. We set up a plan that uses inspection and protection prior to the start of construction. When the project is finished we provide follow up inspections up to a year after completion to ensure all trees remain healthy.
Integrated Pest Managment & Fertilization
We practice Integrated Pest Management when dealing with pest in trees. Our fertilization applications are based on soil and tissue tests so we aren't delivering excessive nutrients to a tree. Our application methods encompass granular, soil injection, liquid, and tissue injection (only used as a last resort).
Tree Consultation & Assessment
Risk assessments, overall evaluations, and property consultations with delivered reports. We can create power point presentations as well as report format based on clientele desires. Our assessments encompass every aspect of tree care from the roots to the crown.
Palm Disease Testing & Managment
Palm diseases are reaching an alarming epidemic in Florida. Testing and Management upon discovery of symptoms are key to the control and spread of these diseases. We provide preventative treatment as well as testing and identification. Please explore the links below to learn more about the diseases in our area. Root Pruning & Excavation
Occasionally tree roots cause a problem and need removal. This is something that should be completed following excavation and proper inspection. Removal of root systems can cause a great deal of damage and decline in tree health. If a section of trees roots are absolutely in need of removal, it should be accomplished only by a certified arborist.
Young Tree Structural Pruning & Management
Arboring mature trees can be expensive, contribute to the decline in tree health, and pose a safety risk to arborists. Structural pruning and ongoing management of young trees can reduce overall expenses of unnecessary maintenance, increase tree health, and eliminate future hazards.
